Liquid Epoxy Topcoat for Denso Petrolatum Tapes
Description: Denso Outer Armour is a two-component 100% solids liquid epoxy coating. It is a tough/durable topcoat that provides excellent abrasion resistance for Denso Petrolatum Tapes.
Uses:
· Mechanically protects Denso Petrolatum Tapes
· Flexible and durable
· Can be brush, roller or Denso applicator pad applied
· Provides excellent resistance to water, acids, alkalis, salts and mild solvents
· Can be applied in one coat up to 40 mils
Prepare surfaces by removing all loosen scale, rust or other foreign matter in accordance to SSPC SP2 "Hand Tool Cleaning" or SP3 "Power Tool Cleaning". High pressure water wash for 3,000 - 7,000 psi is also suitable. Apply a thin film of Denso Paste, which serves as a primer. Spirally wrap the tape with a minimum 1" overlap. For severely corrosive environments, a 55% overlap is recommended. While wrapping, press air pockets out and smooth all lap seams.
Mix each of the base and hardener to an even consistency. Pour Part B (Hardener) into Part A (Base) and mix until an even color is achieved making sure all sides of container are scraped. Immediately begin applying mixed material onto surface with brush, roller or Denso applicator pad. Special attention shall be taken to ensure that there are no pin holes or low film thickness areas. A second coat may be necessary.
