Description
Girth welds are flood-coated with Innercoat and cigarette-wrapped with Guard-Wrap, providing an effective moisture barrier and long-lasting protection.
Innercoat is a blend of microcrystalline waxes designed to provide the most desirable corrosion resistance, adhesion, and wetting characteristics. It is flood coated directly to the pipe surface and is always over-wrapped with a proper Trenton wrapper depending on the type of application. Its ease of application and "forgiving" character in difficult applications make it an ideal all-purpose pipe coating.
Advantages:
· An effective pipe coating proven by over 45 years field use
· Low moisture absorption and transmission
· Excellent wetting and adhesion properties
· Permanently inert
· Easy to apply
· Can be reheated without altering composition
· No waiting before backfilling
· Non-toxic
· Excellent corrosion barrier
· Excellent dielectric barrier
· Excellent ductility
· Resistant to chemicals and bacteria commonly found in soils
· Compatible with other coating materials
· No primers required
· No dangerous fumes
· Packaged in convenient 71/2 lb, blocks or 47 lb cans
· End Use: To protect metal surfaces from corrosion. For patching, Innercoat is heated by appropriate means and applied by hand in the field
· Packaging: 47 lb metal container, 7 1/2 lb blocks (10 per case), 7 1/2 lb blocks (quartered)
· Color: Brown
· Specific Gravity at 77°F: 0.88 - 0.94
· Flash Point: 500°F
· Penetration at 77°F: 160 - 175°F
· Penetration at 77° F: 26 - 50
· Dielectric Strength: 100 V/mil
